Secret Cherry Blossom Spots Along the River

This time, I introduce some hidden spots where you can see cherry blossoms in Tokyo.

I also talk about the cherry blossom season, which I often hear about from my foreign friends.

First of all, there is a cherry blossom-lined street that I would like people who are traveling to Japan from abroad and people who live in Japan to see.

Shakujii River from Oji Station to Itabashi Honcho

There are many famous cherry blossom spots in Tokyo, but no matter where you go, there are always a lot of people.

The place I introduce is a little-known cherry blossom spot where you can see cherry blossoms that stretch for several kilometers.

Please take a look at the photo.

The last photo is of cherry blossoms in snow, which is very rare.

What do you think this beautiful cherry blossoms area ?

The famous cherry blossom spot in Oji is Asukayama, but instead of that, if you walk along Shakujii River from Oji Station towards Itabashi Honcho, you can see wonderful cherry blossoms.

And there are many parks, so I recommend finding a park you like and having cherry blossom viewing there.

I think it’s difficult to find the location, so I’ll attach a map.

I think it’s hard to tell where it is just from this map, so I’ll attach a Google Map.

I’m often asked by my foreign friends about the cherry blossom season.

I don’t know what people from overseas are looking for when they come to Japan, but I have foreign friends who often miss the cherry blossom season.

It’s sad that they came to Japan in the wonderful season to see the cherry blossoms, but the season is off and they can’t see them.

I hope that people who read my blog and my friends don’t let that happen.

The cherry blossom forecast says that the cherry blossoms will bloom when the total daily maximum temperature from February reaches 600 degrees.

Normally, the cherry blossoms in Tokyo are announced around March 20th to March 25th, and they reach full bloom about a week later.

If you visit Japan around March 25th and travel to an area where the cherry blossoms are in bloom, you will have a high chance of seeing the cherry blossoms🌸

* Because it was cold in 2024, the cherry blossoms bloomed later than expected and bloomed in April. However, this is rare.

From what I have seen so far about the cherry blossom blooming period, I think there is a high chance of seeing the cherry blossoms if you come on March 25th.

Of course, it can be delayed like in 2024, so it’s not guaranteed.

The cherry blossoms progress from south to north, so if you come to Japan too early you won’t be able to see them, but if you go to northern Japan a little late you can see the cherry blossoms, so if you’re wondering whether to come early or late, it’s better to come late.

I hope that people who are thinking of traveling to Japan during the cherry blossom season will see the wonderful cherry blossoms.

And when you go cherry blossom viewing, you will naturally have more opportunities to talk to strangers, so you will also have the chance to meet new people.

Why not visit Japan during the wonderful season when the cherry blossoms are in bloom and experience wonderful experiences and new encounters?

I’ve included a link to the Shakujii River Green Read tripAdvisor, so if you’re interested, please take a look.
